Buster Softball Signees

Deanna “Dee” Mobley comes to Garden City from Monument, Colorado. She is a well decorated student-athlete at Lewis Palmer High School. This past season she was voted 1st Team All State at 3B by the Rocky Mountain News Preps. Dee was selected by the Colorado Coaches of Girl’s Sports Association to play in the All State game. For her high school she was named Defensive Player of the year and set the single season triple record (7). She has been playing competitive summer softball for the Quicksilver organization over the past 7 years. Dee is a quick left-handed power slapper who will be a threat to opposing teams.

Alexa Harvey, will be joining the Buster squad from Olympia Washington. She is a left-handed P/1B, who will make a big impact right away. Alexa has been a successful softball player throughout high school and with her summer ball teams. Her summer team the Posse, won the 18 & under state championship in five games. In two of those games Alexa had solo homeruns. She has lettered in four sports and will be a 4-year varsity fastpitch starter at River Ridge High School. She was Evergreen conference 1st Team All League in the infield for the 06-07 season. That same season she made the Olympian All Area Team and had the highest batting average in the Evergreen Conference, batting .583 with an OBP of .690. She plans to study photo journalism.

Blair Stalder comes to us from Liberty Hills, TX. She attends Liberty Hill High School, where she plays both softball and volleyball. Her freshman year she was named softball newcomer of the year. She has been a 1st team all-district player since her freshman year, and as a junior was named 2nd team all Central Texas, as chosen by the Austin Statesman Newspaper. She batted .418 and smacked 4 homeruns in the lead off spot. She was recently named Academic all-state for volleyball. Blair will contribute a big bat from the left side of the plate and add to our team’s success.

Megan Courtois will be joining us from Valley Center Kansas. She currently attends Valley Center High School, where she has played varsity softball for the past 3 years. Megan played competitive softball for the Wichita Bad Newz and Augusta Mavericks this past summer. During the past 3 years she has been working with the Wichita State University coaches to improve her game over the winter months. Megan is a versatile right handed catcher, who also has the ability to play most infield positions. She is a great addition and we are excited to have her next fall.

Alex Wall is a left-handed outfielder, who will be joining us from Wichita, KS. She currently attends Wichita Northwest High School, where she will finish up her high school softball career this spring. Alex was named Rookie of the Year by her high school team, who participated in the 6A State High School Tournament last spring. We look forward to having Alex in the outfield and bringing another bat from the left side of the plate.

Sarah Archuleta will be joining the Buster squad from Littleton, Colorado. She is an outstanding student-athlete for the Chatfield Senior High Chargers softball program in Littleton, Colorado. Sarah is a four-year varsity starter and captain her Senior year. For three consecutive years, Sarah received Jefferson County All Conference awards. She has also been recognized two years in a row by the Rocky Mountain News as “Best of the Rest” infielders in Colorado. She has played competitive summer ball with the Colorado Comets and Stampede organizations that earned ASA and USSSA Championship titles. She is a tremendous athlete and we are excited about her coming to Garden City next year.

Brook Dunkle is from Loveland, Colorado and has played competitive softball at the Club level for the past 11 years for Rage, Buckaroos, and now for the Rocky Mountain Classics. She played Class 5A softball at Loveland High School for four years, being named to the Honorable Mention Academic team her junior and senior year, and All Conference Honorable Mention for catching during her senior year. Brook was selected by her teammates at Loveland High School for the UnSung Hero Award – an award that goes to the most dedicated softball player on the team. Brook has primarily played catcher throughout her career, and also has some experience playing 1st, 2nd and 3rd base. Brook is looking forward to coming to Garden City Community College to begin her career studies in Criminal Justice and being a part of the Broncbuster Softball program.
