David Snodgrass is in his first season on the Buster football staff, after serving as the secondary coach and special teams coordinator at South Atlantic Conference Wingate University, which earned interception, pass defense and pass defense efficiency national rankings in his tenure.
Snodgrass coached an all-American, two consecutive all-SAC corners, a first team punt returner and a two-time ESPN The Magazine academic all-district first team. Also Snodgrass coached David Jones, 1st player from Wingate to be drafted in the NFL Draft, how is currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals. His defensive backs snagged a conference-leading 17 interceptions (05), earning third in SAC pass defense. Wingate also took second in pass defense efficiency and finished 27th/ 18th in the D2 pass efficiency (05 and 06 respectively).
Snodgrass was previously handled the same job three years at NAIA McPherson College, earning back-to-back 3rd place finishes in the KCAC and a school record national ranking of 19. His secondary units there took 6th and 11th in the Nation, and he coached 2 all-Americans, an Academic all-American and 8 all-KCAC secondary players.
As a free safety/strong safety player, he earned all KCAC honors his last 2 seasons at McPherson College. Snodgrass was invited to the 2001 National All Star College Football Classic, and then returned to coach the same game twice. Snodgrass holds psychology and sociology degrees from McPherson College. He married the former Kelley Kramer from Cimarron in June of 2006. Kelley played basketball at GCCC before moving on to Sam Houston State. Currently Kelley is the head women’s basketball coach at Holcomb High School.
