Jacob
Cox begins his first season as a member of the Garden City Community
College Coaching Staff. Coach Cox will be in charge of coordinating
the defense and also coaching the defensive backs for the Broncbusters.
Coach
Cox comes to Garden City from Butler Community College where he
spent the previous 3 seasons as the Grizzlies defensive back coach.
In Coach Cox's three season at Butler , he produced 3 all Americans,
7 all conference selections , and 7 signed Division I scholarships.
While
at Butler County, Cox was instrumental in the development of Jonathan
Warren, who was # 3 in the country in interceptions in 2005, Elbert
Mack, who was the MVP of the 2006 New Orleans Bowl while playing
for Troy University, and Kendrick Harper who the MVP of the 2006
Daulton Defenders Bowl. In 2004 Cox's defensive backs led the Jayhawk
Conference in interceptions with 21.
Cox
spent one season coaching defensive backs as a graduate assistant
coach at Middle Tennessee State , a Division I program in Murfreesboro
, Tennessee . Cox was also a student assistant coach at the University
of Central Arkansas from 2000-2002.
He
earned his bachelor degree in Health Education from Central Arkansas
in 2003.
Cox
is a native of Greenwood , Arkansas and graduated from Greenwood
High School , where he played football.
