Coach
Lucas Aslin is beginning his first year with the Broncbusters, arriving
from Derby High School, where he was the youngest head coach in
class 6A, and led his team to the sub-state finals.
Prior
to serving in Derby, Coach Aslin worked at Butler County Community
College, where he was in charge of outside linebackers/safety and
at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he was a graduate
assistant linebacker coach.
He
attended BCCC and earned his bachelor of science degree in education,
and master’s in educational administration, from Southwestern
Oklahoma State University.
He
played linebacker at SWOSU from 1997 to 1999, earning First Team
All Lone Star Conference status, plus All-Academic honors and the
university’s male athlete of the year award during his senior
season.
Prior
to Southwestern Oklahoma, Aslin played linebacker at BCCC in 1995-96,
receiving honorable mention All-Conference honors as a sophomore.
He lettered in football and baseball at Manhattan High School. The
Manhattan native and his wife, Cristina, welcomed their first son,
Carter, in February 2006.
