Miller Sitting Second in the Average
GCCC barrel racer, Emily Miller, is sitting
second in the average at the College National Finals Rodeo.
Wednesday night Miller had a run of 14.36 seconds which placed
her second in the third go and also boosted her to second in the
average. That result also pushed the Broncbuster women's
team to ninth place in the team standings. For complete results

Busters in 14th Place After Second Round
The Broncbuster Rodeo women's rodeo team is
sitting in 14th place after two rounds at the College National
Finals Rodeo. Emily Miller is sitting fifth place in the barrel
racing and Kristi Breickler is in 12th place in the breakaway
roping.......More
College National Finals Rodeo Underway
The College National Finals Rodeo got
underway on Sunday with the Broncs, Bulls, and Breakaway
performances. The two performances included the first
round of all the rough-stock events as well as the breakaway
roping. Justin Pollmiller scored a 72 in the bareback
riding, placing him 16th after the first round. Kristi
Breickler had a run of 3.5 seconds in the breakaway roping.
That performance put her in 19th place, .5 seconds out of 10th.
The rest of the first go starts Monday morning.
Golf Returning to GCCC
Athletic Director Bob Larson has announced
that men's golf will return to Garden City Community College as
a collegiate sport beginning in the fall of 2011. The
coaching duties will be shared by Ryan Martin and Cole Wasinger
with Martin serving as the head coach.......More
Brisson Named 1st Team All-Conference
Sophomore centerfielder Blake Brisson led
five Broncbusters that were named to the All-Jayhawk West
Baseball team. In addition to Brisson, Alex Kelly-OF and
Tyler Rogers-P were named 2nd Team All-Conference and Zac
Baldini-2nd Base and Sam Thornton-Utility were name honorable

Buster Softball Places Six on All-Conference Teams
Jennifer Buchwalter and Brittany Knabe were
both named first team all-conference in softball for the 2011
season. Buchwalter was named as a utility player after her
outstanding offensive season for the Busters. Knabe was
named first team as a freshman outfielder. In addition to
these two, Melissa Marshall-1st base, Cassee Ames-2nd base,
Chelsey Knabe-3rd base, and Ashley Gibson-Outfield were all
